Peppermint Oreo Balls

If you love peppermint and cheesecakes, you'll definitely enjoy this type of the recipe. They are creamy, sweet, and have a really nice crunchy texture in the exterior layer of candy, and they're no-bake so they're incredibly simple to throw together.

These are ideal for wrapping in vinyl with a ribbon and offering as a home made holiday gift, or as a favor for a holiday party.

Personally, I make a double batch because I understand they're not going to last very long. Plus this recipe isn't difficult to get assistance with because you do not need great chocolate dipping abilities, miniature hands might help as you may enable them roll it in the crushed peppermint candy!

Peppermint Oreo Balls could be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 weeks in an airtight container. Unlike other truffles that use a ganache, these use a dairy-based cream cheese at the center, so for food security they have to be kept cold.

You could even freeze dried Oreo balls for 3-4 weeks if you want to make them ahead of time. Let them thaw in the fridge before serving. If I freeze them ahead of time, I usually put them in the refrigerator the night before to make sure they're not frozen in the center when I serve them.

This is particularly important when you freeze them, or maybe you wind up getting a significant chocolate block of Oreo balls.

Tips for Making Peppermint Oreo Balls

  • If you're having trouble with all the melting wafers, then I recommend using almond bark rather, which will be a more straightforward white chocolate using a richer taste than ordinary melting wafers.
  • Add red sprinkles to the crushed peppermint candy to get longer pops of festive red color!
  • Ensure you suspend your Oreo balls before trapping them in the chocolate. This really is the key to getting them to maintain their own shape.
  • This recipe uses white chocolate, but you can swap it out if you want. I use it because it doesn't make the peppermint look dirty but if you don't like the taste of white chocolate feel free to swap it out as you like.
  • In case your chocolate is too thick or not thinning out enough, then add a few drops of coconut oil until it reaches the consistency you're searching for.
  • An ice cream scoop can make sure that your Oreo balls are about exactly the exact same size.
  • They are the ideal no-bake sweet indulgent treat to function or present this holiday season!
