This recipe is called Christmas crack for a reason. . .once you get started munchin' you can't stop! It's a crowd pleaser.
You'd never feel that utilizing saltine crackers will make such an addicting treat, but it certainly will once you scatter that brown butter and sugar on top!
Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 10 minutes | Yield: 5 Servings
Ingredients
- 24 Saltine crackers
- 1 cup 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup jet-puffed mallow pieces or mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup green and red M&M baking chips or mini candies
- Christmas sprinkles
Directions
- Line a 15 x 10 jellyroll pan with aluminum foil. Fill the whole base of the pan together crackers, putting them side by side but not overlapping. Put aside.
- Add the butter and brown sugar to a medium saucepan. Apply stovetop under medium heat, stirring occasionally, until a very low boil begins. Remove from heat and let it cool for a single minute. Pour throughout the top of their crackers.
- Place pan in oven and simmer for 5 minutes. Return to oven and bake for another 4-5 minutes until the chocolate chips have spilled.
- Immediately sprinkle with the miniature marshmallow bits, M&M candies and sprinkles.
- Put in fridge for 30 minutes to permit the chocolate to harden.
- Before serving, cut into squares. ENJOY!!
