This Cranberry Cream Cheese dip is a gorgeous mix of cranberry tart and the sweet taste of sugar and jam. A complete combo with cream cheese, eating together with pretzel crisps adds that the little salt which just takes this recipe to another level. What you see from the pictures is only HALF the top of the recipe, so it makes in total 2 bricks, therefore is a good sized appetizer for a party.

Cranberry Cream Cheese Dip Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 bundle, 12 ounce, frozen whole cranberries (no sugar added), thawed
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup apricot preserves or jam
  • 1/2 cup water.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 bricks, 8 oz, cream cheese, softened
  • Buttery crackers or pretzel processors for serving
  • fresh mint to garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Add cranberries, sugar, preserves and water into a large saucepan.
  2. Heat saucepan over moderate high heat till boiling.
  3. Mixture will start to bubble and make frothy because it warms and you will notice the cranberries sizzling and pop.
  4. Continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring continuously until berries have been popped open and mix begins to darken.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in pecans.
  6. Let place too trendy from cooker and then refrigerate until finish cooled.
  7. Gently press a spoonful in the middle of the cream cheese to make a divot.
  8. Spoon the mixture over cream cheese and serve with pretzel crackers or chips.
  9. Makes 2 appetizer bricks.
